CSM Donald Eugene Walker (U.S. Army Retired), 78, Clarksville, died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. B.J. Brack officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born October 15, 1931 in Effingham, IL and was the son of the late Eugene L. and Pauline McKinnon Walker. Mr. Walker was Post/Division CSM at retirement, member of the 11th Airbourne and the recipient of the Purple Heart, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and The Bronze Star. He attended New Providence United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Payne Walker, Clarksville; son, Mark Walker, Clarksville; daughter, Beata Eugenia (William) Taylor, Clinton, TN; brother, John Walker, Hot Springs, ARK; sisters, Suzanne Krenzel, Detriot, MI, Janet Simmons, Rhode Island; grandchildren, Justin Taylor, Melissa Taylor, and Cheyenne Walker. Military will serve as pallbearers.
