Donald Ray Rodgers, age 69 of Erin, TN, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2022 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Cathey officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Monday afternoon.
Donald entered this life on May 9, 1952 in Erin TN, son to the late Robert Rodgers and Thelma Parchman Rodgers. He worked as a farmer, logger and had a long career with Georgia Pacific. Donald loved to coon hunt, ride his horses, and grow a garden. He especially loved sharing the produce out of his garden with his family, and teaching his grandkids and great-grandkids about life on the farm.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Freeman Earl Rodgers, and grandson, Brandon Tomlinson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Reba Proctor Rodgers; daughters, Teresa (Brandon) Reynolds, Treva (Tony) Nichols, Melissa (Richard) Proctor, Regina (Phillip) Warfield; siblings, Neil Rodgers, Willie Tracy, Laura Grimes, Margie Blumberg, Evelyn Marrache; Donald also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Carlton Tomlinson, Kayla Pendergrass, Ashley Hamilton, David Brown, Katie Schmidt, Nikki Monroe, Hunter Nichols; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear dog, George “Jonzie” Rodgers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Davis, John Turner, Jason Clark, David Anderson, Daniel Street and Eddie Shelton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tennessee Quality Hospice for all of their loving care they showed Donald and the Rodgers family during this difficult time.
