Donald Ray Bearden, age 79, of Cumberland Furnace, TN passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.
Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Donald Ray entered this life on October 18, 1942, in Montgomery County, TN the late James Oscar and Laura Frances Castleberry Bearden. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and retired from Trane after 42 years of dedicated employment. After retirement, he became a fixture at The Country Diner. Donald Ray enjoyed farming and caring for his animals. He enjoyed all types of sports, and cheering on his sons, and eventually his grandchildren. Donald Ray was affectionately known as “Duck” to his family, friends, and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, William, Daniel, Aubrey, Bobby, and Norris Bearden, Charles Castleberry, Mary Elizabeth “Pete” McWhorter, and Betty Jo Bearden Atkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Elaine Bearden; sons, Chase (Amy) Bearden, Scott (Kalynn) Bearden, and Trey (Madison) Bearden; grandchildren, Audrye, Hunter, Addison, Wyatt, and Lexi, and one on the way, Elaina; siblings, Bennie (Barbara) Bearden, Frances (Eddie) Hodges, and Wilma Faye (Larry) Breeden; sister-in-law Mary Bearden.
Pallbearers will be Chase Bearden, Scott Bearden, Trey Bearden, Dillon Baggett, Chris Bearden, and Roger Cato.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Black Cemetery Fund, 4519 Louise Road, Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051.
