Donald "Mac" Devers, 64, Palmyra, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Belt officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mac was born August 21, 1947 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, son of the late Vernon Winston Devers and Fannie Louise Herrell Devers. He was a mechanic and a factory worker at Trane Company and was a member of Pleasant View Non-Denominational Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Self Devers, brothers Raymond and Frank Devers, and sisters Bessie Biter and Gladys Epps.
Survivors include his daughters Kimberly Devers of Cunningham, Melissa Devers of Evansville, IN, Angela Beard and her husband James of Cumberland Furnace, Jennifer Organ and her husband Hugh of Cumberland Furnace, and Tabitha Landon of Clarksville, brothers Winston and Lonnie Devers, sisters Francis Nicks, Alene Akins Proctor, and Sue Devers, and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Devers, Jr., Todd Devers, Billy Epps, Patrick Parker, Greg Ussery, Keith Trainer, and Charles Peniston.
