Donald entered into this life on October 20, 1946 in New York to the late Howard and Shirley Hayden. He was a retired machine operator from Nashville Wire, and was retired from the United States Navy, having served in Vietnam War.
Survivors include his son, Donald Hayden; daughters, Gloria (Robert) Childress, Meghan Strang; brother, Howard Hayden, Jr.; sisters, Judith Reynolds, Donna Case, and Gloria Merritt; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
