Donald Johnson Floyd, 76, Clarksville, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. Byron Dumas and Bro. Wayne Shelby officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donald was born January 13, 1934 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, son of Silas Johnson Floyd and Sarah Elizabeth York Floyd. His mother died at an early age and his second mother Lizzie Bell Blackwell Floyd helped raise him from age 4. He was a graduate of the Tennessee School of Broadcasting, Nashville, TN. He was formerly employed with Electronic Wholesale House in Nashville and most recently owner of the Post Exchange Television Repair Shop at Fort Campbell, KY for 42 years (1957-1999). He was a Baptist, former member of The Loyal Order of the Moose in Clarksville, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Betty Ruth Biter Floyd of Clarksville, daughters Faye Parks of Joelton, TN and Malinda Stringfield of Gulf Shores, AL, grandchildren Tony Yonkers of Cunningham, TN and Jeremy Parks of Joelton, TN, Brittany and Lydia Stringfield, both of Gulf Shores, great grandchildren Brayden Yonkers, Christopher Parks, and Kaleb Parks, and sister Gladys Haynes of Clarksville. Pallbearers will be Paul Floyd, Donnie Bradford, Mark Floyd, Tony Yonkers, Jay Parks, and Donald Haynes. A special thanks goes to AseraCare Hospice for their 2 1/2 years of care and dedication.
