Donald Delaney, Jr.

Donald Vincent Delaney Jr., 62, Cumberland Furnace, died Friday, May 25, 2009, at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville. The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Full Military Honors.. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home at the funeral home. The remains are to be cremated. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 12, 1946 in Lawrence, MA and was preceded in death by his parents, Donald V. Delaney, Sr. and Clair Gibbons Delaney. Mr. Delaney was a retired SSG with the U.S. Army serving 2 tours in Viet Nam. After retirement he worked for Cole Park Golf Course and Cumberland Heights Elementary School. He was a Catholic, and a Past President and Life member of VFW Post #11160. He is survived by his wife, Joanna Louise Delaney; sons, James Everett Delaney, Donald Vincent Delaney III, William Patrick Delaney, Michael Shawn Delaney; brother, Joseph Delaney; sisters, Colleen Beaumier and Kathy Girarudo, and eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
