Donald Bradford

Donald Ray Bradford, 72, Cumberland Furnace, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Alive Hospice at Saint Thomas, Nashville. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. James Greene and Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Slayden Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. He was born April 22, 1938 in Dickson County and was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Minnie Groves Bradford; son, Carlton Dewayne Bradford; brother, Bobby Bradford; and his half-brothers, Golden Bradford and Royal Bradford. Mr. Bradford was a sawyer and a member of Slayden Baptist Church and the Masonic Camp Lodge #445. Survivors include his wife, Hattie Mae Wall Bradford, Cumberland Furnace; son, Donnie (Terri) Bradford, Clarksville; step-son, Jeff Travis, Nashville; brothers, Hubert (Kathryn) Bradford, Wendell "Snatch" (Geraldine) Bradford, Cumberland Furnace; sisters, Vernice Oliver, Palmyra, Sue Perkins, Clarksville, Debra (Gary) Mickle, Cheryl (Taylor) Phillips, Cumberland Furnace, Alyce Powers, Clarksville; grandchildren, Wesley (Shea) Bradford, Colton Bradford, Chase Bradford, Dalton Bradford, Ashleigh Campbell; great-grandchildren, Keeley and Weston Bradford; and several nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice at Saint Thomas, Unit 3B, 3rd Floor, 4220 Harding Road, Nashville, TN 37205.
