Indian Mound

Donald Bowers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he was born on November 28, 1944. He was a man of many passions, who deeply appreciated the simple joys in life, particularly the beauty of nature and the warmth of family.

Donald began his working life as a young man at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company before embarking on a long and fulfilling career as an over-the-road truck driver. He dedicated many years of service to Roadway Freight and Yellow Freight, where he was known for his work ethic and commitment to his job. His travels allowed him to see the country and meet many people, further enriching his life experiences.

A lover of the great outdoors, Donald found peace and joy in watching "Outdoors with the Morgans." He thrived in the rural lifestyle, enjoying all that it had to offer. From riding horses in his youth to tending to his garden in more recent years, he reveled in being outside and immersing himself in God's grand creation. His enthusiastic spirit extended to the kitchen as well, where he took great pleasure in both cooking and eating—making food one of his greatest joys.

Donald leaves behind his devoted wife, Clemia J. Bowers, and their daughters, Donna K. Greene and Robyn M. Bowers. He also leaves a legacy through his grandchildren: Nicole, Terry, Lindsay, Sara, Jared, Issac, and Phillip, who will remember him fondly. His passing is also mourned by his nieces and nephew, Fay, Dana, and Chris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ruby Daniels Bowers, and his siblings, Estelle, Bobby, and Jerry. His grandson Jacob and nephew Charles are also among those gone before him, and he now joins them in eternal peace.

Donald will be laid to rest on October 18, 2024, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donald Bowers will forever be remembered for his kindness, love for life, and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him.
