James Donald Proctor, 73, Southside, ended this lifes journey, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 while at the Cunningham Utility District. A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Ken Andrews and Rev. Dave Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Proctor was born September 19, 1937 in Montgomery County. He was preceded in death by his father, William Matthew Proctor; mother, Ruth Reynolds Proctor Buckner; step-father, Roy Buckner; son, Jeffrey Donald Proctor; and his brother and sister-in-law, John Allen and Grace Proctor. He was a farmer, retired from the Ford Glass Plant, commissioner for Cunningham Utility District for 40 years, and member of Grays Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley Ann Cunningham Proctor, Southside; son, Michael S. (Kristy) Proctor, Southside; sister, Sarah Phillips, Clarksville; grandchildren, Derek T. Proctor, LaVergne, and J. Dylan Proctor, Southside. Pallbearers will be Derek Proctor, Dylan Proctor, Mark Proctor, Brian Faught, James Carley and Jerry Pendergrass. Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert Carter, John Atkins and employees of the Cunningham Utility District.
