David Smalley

Charles David Smalley, age 85, of Cumberland Furnace, TN passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 27, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Rittenberry and Bro. Terry Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at Marthas Chapel Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. 

David entered this life on November 12, 1938, in Mongomery County, TN to the late Robert and Mattie Sinks Smalley. He was a Baptist and spent many years working for the Montgomery County Highway Department.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Smalley; siblings, Jr. Smalley, Ray Smalley, Rosie Ferrell, and Mary Lillian Blackwell.

Survivors include his children by marriage, Roy Mayfield, and Linda Mayfield; siblings, Jody Smalley, Faye Parker, and Eva Jean. David also leaves behind several grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny Newsome, Gerald Newsome, Greg Morrison, Ricky Greene, Paul Smalley, and Paul Jr. Blackwell.
