David Hollis

PSG (Ret.) David Nelson Hollis, age 85, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

David entered this life on March 24, 1938, in Martin County, North Carolina to the late Robert and Daisy Hollis. David retired from the U.S. Army as a Military Police after serving over 20 years of honorable service and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his retirement in the military, he went on to retire from the Zinc plant. David was a member of Masonic Lodge #747 Palmyra, and Oak Grove American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Helga Hollis, who passed in 1995, siblings, Betty Lou, and Rachel Barnes.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving long-term companion, Gail Kenner; Sons, Robert Hollis, and David (Stacey) Hollis; Grandchildren, Tyler Neill, Jessica Neill, Hannah Walker and Jenna Conner; Great-Grandchildren, Ellie Renee Walker; Siblings, Patricia Swain, Brenda Boyd, and Janice Alonzo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners  Children’s Hospital
