David Wayne Hodges

David Wayne Hodges, age 69, of Cunningham, TN passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. 

Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ferrell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

David entered this life on December 14, 1954 to the late Clifton and Pearl Hutchison Hodges. He was a hard-working, loving husband and father. David had a big heart and a love for nature. He enjoyed farming, deer hunting, fishing, spending time on the tractor, cutting firewood, and gardening. He spent many years raising tobacco and working in the hay field. David wasn’t afraid of work and enjoyed providing for his family. He was skilled in the construction business and was a natural mechanic. David knew his way around a vehicle and could always be found tinkering on a car or truck. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Lollie Hoard, Wanda Wallace, and Alfred Hodges.

Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Annette Hodges; children, Jason (Megan) Hodges, Jamie (Danny) Tripp, and Timmy Hodges; siblings, Media (Randy) Hayes, and Billy Hodges; grandchildren, Andrew John, Clifton Hodges, Shawna (Matthew) Thompson, and Olivia “Livi” Hodges. David also has a great-grandchild on the way. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Hodges, Jeremy Geene, Jeremy Wickham, Jason Fisher, Jackie Hodges, Billy Franklin Hodges, and Phil Hembry.
