David "Eddie" Morrison

David Edward "Eddie" Morrison Sr., 82, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 22, 2011.
He passed away at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born May 6, 1929 in Clarksville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, George "Bus" and Nattie Chisenhall Morrison; daughter, Rebecca Ellen Orzolick; and his brother, Bobby Morrison. Mr. Morrison retired with 42 years from the R.B. Lester Company in Clarksville, TN.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2011 at Hillcrest Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Jerry Harwell will officiate.
Visitation will be 12 noon until the hour of service Monday at the church.
Eddie was married to Betty Ann (Mosley) Morrison for 61 years and was the proud father of seven children: David (Denita) Morrison of Lee's Summit, MO; Debbie Varner of Madison, TN; Martha (Phillip) Davis of Palmyra, TN; Sandra (David) Halstead of Clarksville, TN; Sarah Morrison, Cumberland Furnace, TN; Josh Morrison of Palmyra, TN; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. He treated many children as his own throughout the years with some calling him Dad, Pops or Mr. Morrison, with one in particular being Eugene Burney of Clarksville, TN. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Margaret Manners, Nell Eiland, Dot Gibbs, Sonny Morrison and Tommy Morrison.
Eddie loved God, his family and working. He was a people person and welcomed visitors to his home, especially after he retired at age 72. He loved telling stories of his past, telling jokes, listening to gospel music, and sitting on the porch swing.
