David Allen

David G. Allen, 86 of Clarksville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 surrounded by his family.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Beverly Dycus officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
David was born February 7, 1929 in Montgomery County, son of Reynolds Fredrick Allen and Gracia Bellamy Allen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Mitchell and Lexie Gaither; brothers, Ewing, Brown L, Gordon, and Horace Allen and sister, Clarice Allen. Mr. Allen grew up in Woodlawn and is a member of Hilldale Baptist Church. David enjoyed gospel music, camping, and car racing.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Christine Johnson Allen, son, Robert (Martha) Allen; daughters, Shirley (Lathe) Gaither and Glenda (Bob) Allen; grandchildren, Christie, Ray, Kaleb, Yvonne, Bobbie, Betty, and Sandy; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Lilly, Alyssa, Brooke, Lauren, Kristen, Josh, Noah, Colin, and Anna; great-great granddaughters, Addalie and Paisley.
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Gaither, Ray Quintero, Jacob Griffith, Benji and Ricky Johnson, Joe and Johnny Allen, Jeff Atkins, and Bobby Forest.
His family would like to thank Gateway Hospice for the care and support they provided.
