SSG (Ret) Dale Bachhofer, age 76, Clarksville, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Clarksville Nursing & Rehab.
A Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Russellville, KY, with the Rev. Calvin Naylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Dale was born January 22, 1936 in Ringling, OK, son of Henry and Thelma Geer Bachhofer. He was retired from a career with the U.S. Army and courageously served 3 tours in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the Army, Dale began a second career as a State Corrections Officer and worked in that capacity for 20 years until his retirement. He was a Baptist.
Dale was preceded in death by his sons by marriage, Gary and Donnie Hughes four brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Jones Bachhofer of Clarksville; son by marriage, Robert Hughes of Clarksville; grandchildren by marriage Ross and Carissa Hughes and great granddaughter by marriage Aubrey Hughes; brothers, Lawrence, Carl, and Gary Bachhofer, all of OK; and sisters, Ada Bachhofer of TX, and Joyce Glassgo and Zenobia Logan, both of OK.
