D Mike Todd, aged 72, passed away on April 4, 2016 at his home in Clarksville, TN. He was born October 31, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Stanley Vincent and Harriet (Turner) Todd.
Mike is a Viet Nam veteran, serving two tours. After his military career, he retired from Ft Campbell Directorate of Resource Management. He then joined Lincoln Financial Group, Nashville, supporting their IT systems. Mike also served as a retired annuitant with the Memphis District Corps of Engineers, Recovery Field Office, New Orleans, LA during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He was a member of the American Legion, 101st Airborne Division Association, Knights of Columbus, and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Mike graduated from Palatka Senior High School, Palatka, Florida, in 1962 and from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee, in 1972 with a degree in math and history.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean Frances (Wright)Todd of Clarksville; daughters Shane MeShell Jenkins (Sam) of Germantown, TN; Sabrina Marie Bailey of Little Elm, TX; Kaiya Levine (Todd) of Springfield, VA and Ilaine Newby (Geno) of Antioch, TN; and son David Malcom Todd (Sandra) of Louisville, KY; and sisters Marie Calkins (Tom) of Trenton, FL and Marsha Robertson (Tex) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Stephen, Trevor, Kirtland and Trace Jenkins; Chloe and Isabella Bailey; Charles and Lindsay Todd; Jacob and Abigail Levine; Miles and Tia Newby; and Ellie and Mila DeBoer. He is also survived by two great grandsons, Liam and Jace Jenkins. Mike was a loving and doting grandfather to all of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Linda Owens and Judy Wingerd.
At Mike’s request, a Visitation Celebration of His Life complete with a party, will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 and a Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 celebrated by Father Frank Ruff at Tiny Town Baptist Church, 9936 Dixie Beeline Hwy, Guthrie, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Francis of Assisi Building Fund, PO Box 325, Guthrie, KY 42234. Mike’s final gift was the wood turning of a set of collection plates to be used by St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
