D. Russell Denton, 62, Clarksville, died Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave& Larson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Russell was born March 28, 1948 in Clarksville, son of Dorris and Ara Lucille Denton. He was retired from the Trane Company and belonged to the IAMAW Machinist's Union and was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife Christine Derbort Denton of Clarksville, daughters Brenda (Joseph) Radebaugh of Columbia, SC and Malissa Ann Denton of Murray, KY, brother Gary Dale Denton of Clarksville, father-in-law Anton L. Derbort of Clarksville, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Debra Kay Derbort of Harvest, AL. Pallbearers will be Mike Lee, David Halstead, Chuck Killebrew, Sidney Sites, Harold Osborne, and Keith Jackson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203-2003.
