CW4 (Ret.) Norman Cox, 81, Clarksville, went to be with his Lord Friday, September 17, 2010, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, September 21 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman and Rev. Bill Graham officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, September 20 at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 31, 1929 in Hartford, KY and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Earl and Oakley Cox; son, Sonny Cox; brother, Rayburn Cox; sisters, Lela Moore and Madeline Finley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Cox was a retired CW4 Pilot with over 30 years of service in the U.S. Army where he served 2 tours in Vietnam and 3 tours in Korea. He was a Master Army Aviator and recieved numerous awards including the Bronze Star Medal. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Queen City Lodge 761, Shriner, Scottish Rite, Vietnam Helicopters Association and Retired Officers Association of America. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Maxine Brothers Cox, Clarksville; daughters, Norma (David) Meece, Ft. Worth, TX, Vicky (Chuck) Powell, Enterprise, AL, Sandy (Kevin) Dorris, Clarksville, Paula (Mike) Sanders, Mt. Juliet; daughter-in-law, Toni Cox, Corpus Christi, TX; sisters, Lurlie Hoover, Hartford, KY and Nadine Smith, Louisville, KY; cherished by thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
