CW4 (Ret.) William Whitford Blackburn III, 51, Clarksville, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at his home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Guthrie, KY, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 12 noon until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born October 31, 1957 in Ector County, Texas, son of William W. Blackburn Jr. and Nancy Templeton Blackburn. He retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years, which included service in Desert Storm. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his son, William W. Blackburn IV. Survivors include his mother of Richmond, Texas, wife, Anna M. Blackburn of Clarksville, children, Ronda Ramsey of Murfreesboro, Bobbie Hurst of Clarksville, Christine Blackburn of Denver, CO, Nichole Sehon of Katy, Texas, and Adam Blackburn of Colorado, sisters Carmella Holmes of Houston, Texas, Melissa Reihl of Colorado, Lisa Blackburn, step-sister Shelly Faye, and six grandchildren.
