CSM (Retired) Charlie J. Williams, age 74 of Clarksville, passed away on October 23, 2015 in Nashville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 Noon Monday, November 2, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full Military Honors rendered.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.
Charlie was born November 13, 1940 in Cumberland County, North Carolina to the late Belvin and Julie Mae Williams. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jane and Annette.
Charlie proudly served his country until his retirement after 30 years in the U.S. Army. He earned the rank of Command Sergeant Major and earned many awards during his career in the military. Charlie worked for the State of Tennessee after his retirement and was also a Mason who belonged to lodge-N.E. 107.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Doris Braden-Williams; sons, Belvin Williams, Verchaunt Williams, and Duone Braden; daughters, Katrina Braden; 4 grandchildren who were his world; sisters, Clarice Wright, and Denise Williams of Hope Mils, North Carolina, and a host of nieces and nephews; also his devoted friend, Charles Cureton “Mr. C.”
