CSM (Ret.) Robert A. Cunningham, 89, Clarksville, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 at Clarksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. E. G. Sims officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 13, 1921 in Malakoff, Texas, youngest of nine children to the late Robert Douglas and Edna Williams Cunningham. CSM Cunningham entered the Army at age 19 and made the military his lifelong career from 1940-1966. He was a veteran of WWII being deployed to Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He also served in the Korean War. He was a former post Sgt. Major at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After retiring from the Army he was post exchange manager at Fort Campbell and later in Syracuse, New York. He then became a civil service employee until retirement. On the 16th of February, 1964 he married Sandra P. Rogers in Madisonville, KY. She resides at their home in Clarksville. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Clarksville. In addition to his wife survivors include daughters Lorraine Logue and husband Ricardo Rios of Clarksville and Renee Curtiss Meyer and husband Jerry of Warrensburg, MO, grandchildren Stephanie Hartis and husband Jody of Monroe, North Carolina, Sheri Logue of Clarksville, and Courtney Curtiss of Warrensburg, MO, great-grandchildren Gregory, Savannah, Madison, and Brandon Logan, and brother Elmo Evon Cunningham of Athens, TX.
