Corrine Smith Putnam

January 29, 1921 — April 6, 2017

Corinne Smith Putnam, daughter of John Thomas Smith and Gertie Sullivan Smith. Loving wife of Eugene Hendrix Putnam, Lt. Col. USAF, and devoted mother of two sons, John Madison Putnam and Mark Glenn Putnam.
Born Jan. 29, 1921 in rural southeast Montgomery County.
Survived by her sons, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Corinne grew up in Montgomery County, attended school at Clarksville High and Austin Peay College. She received a degree from George Peabody College. Corinne married Eugene Hendrix Putnam in 1943 and the couple lived in many parts of the US while Hendrix served as an officer in the Air Force. They retired and returned to Clarksville in 1964 where they raised two sons.
Corinne was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church, the Pennyrile Doll Club, and a resident at Uffleman Retirement Community.
Services will be held at a later time. Donations in her honor may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
