On the evening of Friday, September 15, 2017, Claudia Louthen passed away suddenly at Tenova Health Care Medical Center in Clarksville, TN at the age of 61.
Claudia was born in Augsburg, Germany on July 1, 1956. She immigrated with her German-born mother and American father to the United States in 1959. At the age of nine Claudia and her family moved back to Germany to accommodate her father’s military career. She often spoke of her wonderful memories of the many vacations the family took traveling throughout Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and France. She especially enjoyed the years she was able to spend with her German grandparents as well as her many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Claudia will be remembered as a kind and loving daughter, dedicated mother, sister and friend. Nothing was more important to Claudia than the love of her family and friends. She enjoyed sharing stories about her travels and loved sharing family photos. Claudia was an avid animal lover with a special affection for cats and kittens. Throughout her life Claudia welcomed many kitties into her home.
Claudia is survived by her daughters Bianca “Nicki” Louthen and Monica Louthen; brother Bob (Wendy) Louthen; granddaughters Opal and Keira; niece Leah Huhn (Dustin); and great-niece Camden Louthen. She is preceded in death by her father Robert J. Louthen; brother Lawrence “Larry” Louthen; and mother Sieglinde “Linda” Louthen .
