Claudell Boone Wootton, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 with the Rev. Laurie Hynson officiating. Her family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Claudell entered into this life on January 11, 1925 in Houston County, Tennessee to the late Richard Byrd Boone and Stella (Tedda) Smith Boone. She was retired from a fruitful career in education and enjoyed teaching young minds for more than 35 years. Of those years teaching, Claudell spent 25 years with Ft. Campbell Schools. She was a member of the Madison St. United Methodist Church and spent much of her free time volunteering at church and in the community. She especially enjoyed sewing, gardening, and art.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Alex P. Wootton, Jr. and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, William Norman (Ted) Wootton and his wife Belinda (Wendy) and their daughter Jennifer Codding and her children Nikki and Will, daughter, Alexis T. Wootton and her daughter Mallary Pearson, and daughter, Martha Em Raby and her husband Mark S.; and her siblings and their families, Calvin Boone, Jerry Boone, Lewis Boone, Emily Conroy, Carol Vasquez, Elaine Franklin, Gayle Dawson, Richard Boone, Michael Boone, Susie Denton, Pam Mathews, and Donna Boone.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the Claudell B. Wootton Art Scholarship at APSU or to the Alzheimers's Association.
