Christine Opal Hayes, 90, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at her home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Robertson, Terry Brown, and Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. An Eastern Star service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Opal was born November 5, 1921 in Oxford, Mississippi, daughter of Robert and Mabel Cunningham Blackwell. She was a member of the Hilldale Baptist Church where she was active in the Homebound Ministry and previously active with the Children's Puppet Ministry. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Mary Morrison Chapter 500.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 70 years, US Navy (Ret) CPO Kenneth Hayes of Clarksville; and her beloved children, Larry Hayes of Clarksville and Alan Hayes and his wife Rosemary of Nashville; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of Hilldale Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilldale Baptist Church Building Fund.
