Christine Hollis

December 17, 1922 — February 4, 2012

Christine Simmons Hollis, 89, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Clarksville Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at McReynolds- Nave & Larson Chapel with the Rev. Paul Trammel and the Rev. Dr. John Michael Jones officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of serice.
Christine was born December 17, 1922 in Cheatham County, the daughter of James Ervin Simmons and Alice Miles Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Charles Marvin Hollis. She is also preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Hollis and Betty R. Webb; two brothers; Jack Cecil Simmons and Thomas Simmons. Christine retired from Rose's Department Store and was a member of Forrest Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son Charles Philip Hollis (Debbie) of Clarksville and a daughter Sandy Hollis Caldwell (Joe) of Marietta, GA. Four grandchildren; Craig Caldwell (Sandy), Ryan Caldwell (Annetta), Matt Hollis (Caroline), Lindsey Hollis Brewer (Josh). Seven Great-Grandchilden; Cassaundra Caldwell, Kathaeryn Caldwell, Sarah Caldwell, Hannah Caldwell, Samuel Caldwell, Abigail Caldwell and Rachel Anne Caldwell. Two sisters; Nell Hollis of Clarksville and Jean Knaebel of Illinois. One brother; James Simmons of Clarksville.
Pallbearers will be Craig Caldwell, Ryan Caldwell, Matt Hollis, Josh Brewer, Rodney Hollis, Phillip Hester, Andy Hollis, David Wayne Webb and Steve Hollis. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
