Charles Wayne Black, age 58, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He left us far to early due to a Glioblastoma, Brain Tumor.
Wayne entered into this life on June 17, 1963, in Erin, TN, to Charles Eugene and Earline Black. Wayne was a graduate of Montgomery Central High School and attended Austin Peay State University. He was employed by McIntosh Construction Company for thirty-seven years, where he moved up the ranks to become the Vice-President of Operations before passing.
Wayne was a devoted husband, as well as a loving son and brother. His children and grandchildren, loved his sense of humor. He was a lover of nature, the mountains and hiking. His management methods included being on the asphalt with his men, together they learned many valuable life lessons. He was the guy that got the jobs done. Wayne was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Madison Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Harriet Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the church. Visitation will be held again from 12 PM until the hour of service at the church on Sunday.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Eugene Black.
Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Hammerstein Black; son, Marc Hammerstein; daughters Jennipher (Fred) Harrill, Angie Henley, Brandy (Brad) Barrow; mother, Earline Black; grandchildren, Makaylee Evans, Garrison Evans, Landree Henley, Abrey Rapp, Sloane Barrow, River Harrill, Sawyer Harrill; sisters, Connie Black, Elaine (Donald) Bearden and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers: Richard Castor, David Keator, Timmy Ferrell, Larry Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Charles Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers are The Senseless Hikers.
