Charles “Sandy” Sanders, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at his home.
At his request, there will be no visitation and there will only be a Military Honors Service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2 p.m.
He was born on July 3, 1934 in Sharples, West Virginia to the late Charles E. Sanders and Vina Napier.
Sandy was a graduate of Sharples High School. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Political Science from Park College and received his M.A. in human resources/public administration.
Sandy was an Air Force veteran of 26 years, after retiring he was a teacher for Northwest High School as a sheet metal repair man. Then worked as a construction foreman in heavy equipment building the Union Carbide Plant in Clarksville. He was of the Protestant faith and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the lodge in Madison, West Virginia.
His survivors are his wife of 62 years, Pauline Eastham Sanders; two children, Mitch and Tonya (Jeff) Melton both of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Jenny Sanders, Ryan and Lindsay Melton also of Clarksville.
