Charles R. Morgan, 73, Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Friday at the funeral home.
Charles was born November 17, 1938 in Whitesburg, KY, son of Ancil and Margaret Combs Morgan. Charles retired from the U.S. Army following 22 years service. He was a distinguished serviceman, made evident by his service in Vietnam and his contribution as a member of the All Army Marksmanship Team. Following his retirement from the Army, Charles owned and operated Hwy. 48 Market and Video Country Store. He was a Baptist.
Charles was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Morgan. He is survived by his loving family which include his wife, Janetta Caudill Morgan of Clarksville; his son, SFC Gregory Morgan and wife Leigh of Fort Sam Houston, TX; his grandchildren Cody, Dylan, Katelynn, and Wyatt Morgan and grandchildren by marriage Jared and Christina Sergent; and his sister, Norma Jean Bartley of Cincinnati, Ohio.
