Charles Frank Pociask, 64, Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY. Full military honors will be rendered.
Charles was born September 11, 1947 in Chicago, IL, son of Max and Josephine Guagenti Pociask. He was a 27 year Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. His awards include the Bronze Star with "V" Device and the Vietnam Service Medal with Silver Service Star. Following his military career he was a driver for Snyder Trucking. Charles opened his home to children of need by participating in the Foster Parents for Tennessee program and was a Child's Advocate 2007-2008. He was a Christian and a lifetime member of the American Legion and D.A.V.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant sons, Jamie and Joey. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol Hendrix Pociask of Clarksville; children Richard Pociask (Fran) of McKenzie, TN, Toni Robertson (James) of Lafollet, TN, Max Pociask (Donna) of Clarksville, Bonnie Langley (Tim) of Clarksville, Reba Pociask of Clarksville, Selina Pociask of Clarksville, and Emily Pociask of Clarksville; grandchildren Christopher, Brandon, Josh, Brandon, Cheyanne, Erica, Vincent, and Summer; great grandchild Kimberlyn; brother Duane Pociask of Coloma, MI; and sisters Kathryn Desanto (Frank) of Benton Township, MI, Beverly Diaz of South Haven, MI, Sharon Pemberton of South Haven, MI, and Maxine Pociask of Watervliet, MI.
