Charles Lankford

Charles David Lankford, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Tennova Medical Center surrounded by family.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Wise officiating. He will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Charles' family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023,  with a masonic service at 7p.m. and again Tuesday the 24th of October from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service the funeral home.

Charles entered this life on February 13, 1937, in Grays Knob, Kentucky to his late parents, Judge David Douglas Lankford and Carrie Mae Harmon Lankford. As a young man, Charles entered into active-duty service with the US Army, bravely serving in both the Korean War and Vietnam. He retired from federal service in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and civil service. Charles was a Baptist and a member of the Queen City Masonic Lodge #761.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Flora Mae Short Lankford; and five brothers, Harold, Jim, Bob, Jack, and Dannie. He is survived by his daughter, Diana Lynn Norman of Cincinatti. Ohio; sons, Charles Michael (Cheryl) Lankford, Wayne Robert (Celia) Lankford, and Mark Anthony (Jackie) Lankford, all of Clarksville.; 8 grandchildren, Kara (Steven) of Hendersonville. Michael Lee and Somer of Clarksville, Courtney (Chris) of Pleasant View, Jonmark McClain McGuire and Madelyn of Clarksville; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Cole, Raleigh Mae, and Landon.

Charles fulfilled his Earthly obligations to his GOD, his Country, and his Family.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Nephews, Doug Lankford, and Greg Lankford.
