Charles Hester

Charles Richard Hester, 67, Clarksville, died Thursday, December 3, 2009, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Dr. Ted Denny, Mary Margaret Davis and Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Flat Wood Cemetery, Camden, TN, with military honors. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home. He was born February 16, 1942 in Carroll County and was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Woodrow and Marie Elizabeth Walker Hester; wife, Kathleen Dawn Hester; and brother, Donnie Hester. Mr. Hester was a VietNam Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, retired from being a Insurance Agent after 42 years and attended Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Charles Ryan "Chuck" Hester, Clarksville; step-sons, Steve Breeden, New Johnsonville, TN, Bruce Harwood, West Palm Beach, FL; step-daughter, Tracey Banks, Clarksville; brothers, Johnnie Lynn Hester, Nashville, Jerry Martin Hester, Clarksville, Jimmy Karl Hester, Carroll County, TN; sister, Janet Harrison, Clarksville; grandson, Joshua Ryan Hester; and seven step-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Perry, Tyler Banks, Steven Banks, Chad Harrison, Larry Hester and Josh Smith.
