Chaplain William C. Warmath (Retired Colonel U. S. Army), 80, Clarksville, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at at his residence. The funeral will be held at 12 Noon Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. John David Laida officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, Kentucky with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4 til 8pm Thursday at the funeral home and from 11am til service Friday at the church. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Chaplain Warmath was born May 18, 1927,the son of Cecil and Margaret Holloway Warmath of Mayfield KY. He was Valedictorian of his graduating class at Union University. After seminary, he served as a missionary to Japan for 10 years. He then served in the U. S. Army as a Chaplain for 29 years, in Japan, Korea and and Viet Nam. After his military career, Chaplain Warmath pastored several churches in the Kentucky and Middle Tennesse area, with his final pastorate at Salem Baptist Church, Oak Grove,KY. He is a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Cox Warmath,Clarksville,One son, Mark Alan (April) Warmath, Clarksville. One daughter, DeeAnn Warmath (Andy) Smith, Milwaukee, WI. One brother, Ray Warmath, Mayfield, KY. and two sisters, Elaine Vaughn and Carolyn Cook both of Mayfield, KY. Five grandchildren - William Tyler Warmath, Karen Elizabeth Warmath, Dustin Alan Warmath, Haley Kaylyn Warmath and Dylan Andrew Warmath. Pallbearers: Phil Faulkner, Joe Martin, Randy Warmath, David Dunn, Tad Ketech, Ed Stevens, Donald Wayne Cox and Bobby Womack. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Bob Welch Sunday School Class.
