Cecil Baggett

Cecil Baggett, 89 of Cunningham, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior November 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm Tuesday, November 29 2022 at Lone Oak Baptist Church located at 4445 Louise Road, Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051 with Reverend David Mackens. Burial will follow at the Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM until the hour of service at the church.

Cecil was born September 25, 1933 in Montgomery County to the late Herbert and Lora Baggett. In addition to his parents, Cecil is preceded in death by brothers, Leon Baggett, Gene Baggett, sister, Christine Roth, daughter, Sandra Baggett and grandson, Jon Paul Miller.

Cecil worked as a produce manager for the Kroger Store on Madison Street for 46 years. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan for 73 years. He had been a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church for 77 years. He always had a love for stone work, which quickly developed into Cecil being known a talented stone mason. With his generous heart, he would often build walls and structures such as water fountains, for family and friends.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Martha Nell Rye Baggett of 70 years; daughter Betsy (Wayne) Abrams; grandchildren, Vanessa Jones and Kevin Abrams; great grandchildren, Nora Jones and Jackson Abrams.

Family members, Cooper Dunn, Travis Beech, Brad Heflin, Luke Baggett, Averitt Baggett, Ren Baggett and Kevin Abrams will serve as pallbearers.
