Cathi Maynard

December 6, 1957 — June 23, 2023

Cathi Maynard, age 65, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. Following a 35 year battle with MS, she is without pain and at peace with our Lord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at LifePoint Church with Pastor Mike Burnette and Rev. Jamie Mandrell officiating. Cathi's family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the church. Rendering of US Army Honors will follow. Her remains will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
Catherine Reed Maynard entered into this life on December 6, 1957, in Germantown, Pennsylvania to the late George Reed Sr. and Barbara Dalson  Reed. In her early years, Cathi served in the US Army as an MP and also was affiliated with Special Forces operations during her Army career. After her honorable discharge, Cathi and her husband Joe co-operated the family business, JCM Management. She was a great mother and aunt, better grandmother, and a hero to all who knew her. Tough and strong, yet compassionate, Cathi made her family and everyone around her better every day with her smile and energy that was infectious. She loved her Lord Jesus and enjoyed attending LifePoint Church.
Her passions were service and giving, traits that directed her and husband Joe in their support of Austin Peay State University, Clarksville Academy, A Soldier's Child Foundation, Operation Stand Down, SAFE: Soldiers and Families Embraced, and others. If she could help a child, a vet, or the homeless, she did!
In addition to her husband, Joe Maynard, survivors include her children, Joe C. Maynard (Andrea) and Lucas Maynard; her grandchildren, Joe C. Maynard, Jr., Haylee Maynard, and Shelby Maynard; and her siblings, Michelle UIearey, John Reed, Jr., and Michael Reed.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in her honor to Austin Peay State University Foundation. Donations can be made online at https://givetoapsu.com/CathiMaynard or mailed to APSU Foundation, PO Box 4417, Clarksville, TN  37044.  Please make checks payable to APSU Foundation with memo in memory of Cathi Maynard. Additionally, memorials may also be made to Soldier's Child Foundation or American Mobility Project.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Marshall, Herb Pryor, Pete Santaniello, Dennis Boyce, Kris Phillips, Gerald Harrison, Walt Lord, Eric Lehman, Mike Patterson, John Sells, Wes Golden, Ken Gilman, Scotty Carroll, and George Galegor.
