Carolyn Parker Grant

Carolyn Parker Grant, age 88, of Southside, TN passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Chapel Hill Community Church with Rev. Ben Falls and Rev. Mike Proctor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Carolyn entered this life on March 5, 1936, in Houston County to the late Edward Bud Parker and Agnes Bratschi Parker. She was a graduate of Erin High School and retired from Jostens. Carolyn was a member of both Chapel Hill Community Church and the Order of the Eastern Star-McAllister Masonic Lodge #402. She also had a crafty side and enjoyed sewing. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel Grant, sister, Shirley Harris.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Grant and his wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Matthew Grant, Ashley (Jonathan) Crites, Brandy (Marvin) Black, Micheal (Jessica) Baggett; great-grandchildren, Andrew Baggett, Haley Baggett, Abbigale Crites, and Samuel Crites. Carolyn also leaves behind her brothers, Darrel Parker, and Kenneth Parker. 

The Grant family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their love and kindness during Carolyn’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chapel Hill Church Cemetery Fund in the care of Kevin Grant, 4238 Old Hwy 48, Southside, TN 37171.
