Carolyn Kay Metzger, 57, died at her home in Clarksville on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Buchholz will officiate.
Carolyn was born December 24, 1959 in Elkhart, Kansas and graduated from high school in Liberal, Kansas in 1978. She married Charles Don Metzger, of Lincoln, Nebraska, in Liberal in 1978. Charles was a railroad engineer and they discovered many places to call home. They had two daughters, Carla and C.J. (Caryn Jean).
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her father, Delbert E. Rainey, her maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Karen and Ivan Scholle, Clarksville; daughters Carla (Sean) Loving of Lincoln, Nebraska and C.J. (Ray) Whited of Clarksville; brothers Kenton Rainey of Laverne, Oklahoma and Kyle (Peggy) Rainey of Eureka, Missouri; step-sister Sieglinde Scholle, Falling Waters, West Virginia; grandchildren Evan, Emma, and Easton Loving, all of Lincoln Nebraska and Destiny and Danielle Dunn and Londyn Whited, all of Clarksville; aunt, Marion Rhoads of Tuscon, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
After moving to Clarksville, Carolyn attended Draughon's Junior College and received and Associate of Science degree in Computer Information Technology in April of 2000. She enjoyed spending her time knitting quilts, painting, and watching football on TV.
