She was born December 29, 1926 in Gibson County, Tennessee. She attended elementary school in Bells, TN. She was adopted by a loving family and moved to Jackson, TN.
In 1941 she moved to Nashville to attend Litton High School. She met and fell in love with Chesley Morrow. On January 14, 1946 they married and moved to Florida. She also lived for a short time in Nashville where she attended Falls Business College.
Mrs. Morrow has been an animal lover her entire life. He husband convinced her to move back to their family farm in Woodlawn in 1963. Chesley promised her that she would have her own horse. Chesley gave her Lizzita as a house warming gift. They were also surprised with another gift when Lizzita had a foal they named Taffy.
Carol became actively involved with animal rights activism in 1970. She then became President of the Montgomery County Humane Society, in which at that time survived on donations only. Her work with them was strictly volunteer. She also worked with the State Department of Education and in her spare time attended Austin Peay University.
Over the years Chesley and Carol added to their family with a mixed terrier named Crocket and a Doberman named Greta along with numerous other animals they fostered along the way.
The humane society elected her as their Chief Investigator for cruelty and neglect of animals. She investigated cases in Montgomery, Houston, Cheatham and Stewart counties. She was actively involved until 1999 when her husband Chesley was diagnosed with Cancer. At that time, she stepped down from her position to care for him. Mr. Morrow passed away in January 2002. Carol continued to be active with her church, Central Chapel Methodist Church, and with her friends at the humane society.
Carol came to be a part of Montgomery Care's family in March of 2010. She still enjoyed working her crossword puzzles, reading Nora Roberts novels and keeping in touch with her humane society friends through letters and phone calls.
