Carol “Elaine” Phibbs, born on February 20, 1949, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2025, surrounded by love and warmth. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edwin “Carroll” and Bettye Parker. Elaine’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family, her service to her country, and her deep faith.
Elaine was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. It was during her service that she met her husband, Marvin H. Phibbs, with whom she would share 56 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home, raising three devoted daughters: Angelia (William) Wiley, Sheri (Mark) Eaves, and Sarah (Joseph) Clayman. Elaine’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chayson Smith, Savanna Watson, and Luke Clayman, who cherished the time spent with their mamaw.
In addition to her family, Elaine had an impressive career, retiring from Jostens after 32 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Clarksville Church of God of Prophecy since 1975, where her heart for children shone brightly through her involvement in children’s ministry, youth camps, and Vacation Bible School. Her commitment to nurturing young lives reflected her caring nature.
Elaine is also survived by her brother, Paul (Marilyn) Parker, and her sisters, Eileen Sands, Polly (Carey) McMillan, Susie (Lewis) Mohorn, and nieces and nephews.
Her memory will be honored on January 25, 2025, with visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life with US Navy Honors at 4:00 PM at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, Rev. William Wiley, Rev. Windell Moore and Rev. Mike Burton officiating.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Camp Hickory Hills, P.O. Box 2319, Hendersonville, TN 37077
