Carmon Bishop, age 80, of Erin, TN, passed away January 13, 2022 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN.
Carmon entered this life on October 19, 1941 in Cumberland City, TN, son to the late Batson Woodrow and Ocie Frances Bishop.
In high school, Carmon was a member of the Beta Club, and was a member of band where he played the drums. He spent his free time mowing Carlyle Mitchum’s lawn and worked for Mr. McKinnon at his store where he developed his love for photography.
After high school, Carmon went to work for the FBI in Washington DC where he worked in the photography and forensic department. Within a short period of time, he advanced up the ladder where he was asked to move to Los Angeles to head their photography and forensic department.
He eventually decided to move on and went to work for the Palm Springs Police Department as their Photographer and Forensic Specialist. He met a lot of interesting people there, just to name a few: Frank Sinatra JR, Nancy Sinatra, Kenny Rogers and one of his favorites was Elvis Presley.
He opened a photography store in Palm Springs for a couple of years. He later became a Truck Driver and owned a small flee which was one of his loves. By this time he had moved back to Erin, and bought his house and settled back into life here. He opened and ran a small sewing and embroidery business in Erin that he quickly became passionate about. He eventually moved his embroidery business to his home where he continued his work for many years. His work has been appreciated and loved by so many in this area.
In December of last year, he announced on Facebook that he would retire at 80 and do some of the things he always wanted to do with his photography. Unfortunately he fell ill and succumbed to his illness before he could get back into his photography.
Carmon’s wishes were to be cremated and his cremains will be put to rest with his parents at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
