Carl T. Ellis, 80, Clarksville, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Spring Meadows Health Care Center.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Street United Methodist Church with Rev. John Michael Jones and Rev. Tom Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Mr. Ellis was born November 10, 1931 in Clarksville and was preceded in death by his parents, Bailey and Clara (Bradley) Ellis; brothers, Frank Ellis, Edward Ellis, Harold Ellis, James Ellis; sisters, Dorothy Fuqua, Alice Smith and Emma Ruth Rocky.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, an active member of Forest Street United Methodist Church for 65 years, and retired from the Leaf Chronicle after 42 years as a printer.
Survivors include his wife, Donna (Estes) Ellis, Clarksville; daughters, Debra (Dale) Francis, Erin, Patti (Rick) Phipps, Carroll, IA; grandchildren, Quinten Phipps, Wesley Phipps, Jacob Phipps, Parker Francis, Jessica (Brandon) Francis Harrison and Becky Francis.
His nephews, Chris Ellis and Houston Ellis as well as his grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
