Carl L. Dunn, 78 of Clarksville, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Alive Hospice, Nashville, TN.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. James Shepherd and Bruce Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
He was born on June 10, 1937 in Towanda, Pennsylvania to the late Clay Vern Dunn and Harriett Shaylor Dunn. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers and four sisters.
Carl was a Retired Master Sergeant with twenty two years of service with the United States Army ADA Missle Unit. Carl was a devout husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a true gentle soul, kind and Christian man.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Byars Principe Dunn of Clarksville, TN; five sons, Kevin (Donna) Dunn of Nebraska, Carl Dunn Jr, Steven Dunn of Washington, Michael Principe, and Frank (Bonnie) Principe Jr.; one daughter, Connie (Tommy) Principe Broome of Clarksville, TN. Carl has one surviving sister of nine siblings, Phyllis (Ed) Burnside. Carl is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Scott Johnson, Shane Principe, Rachel Principe, Casey Broome, Jeremy Broome, Marcus Reese, Trevor Reese, Edward Dunn, William Dunn, Nickolus Dunn, Kevin Dunn Jr., Christopher Dunn, and Joshua Dunn; 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William Dunn, Kevin Dunn Jr., Nick Dunn, Shane Principe, Jeremy Broome, Marcus Reese, Scott Johnson, and Trent Broome.
