C. Tom Byrd, Jr., age 69, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at his home in Clarksville.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The Byrd family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the church.
Mr. Byrd entered into this life on July 31, 1945 in Lumberton, North Carolina, the son of the late Carson T. Byrd Sr. and Mary Leona Jackson Byrd. He had proudly served in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the venerable 11th Armored Calvary “Blackhorse Regiment”. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Following his service to country, he worked as a supervisor at Johnson Control in Cadiz, KY and Ebonite International in Hopkinsville. Mr. Byrd was a parishioner at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Oak Grove.
He is survived by his loving wife, June Cacal of Clarksville; and siblings, James T. Byrd, Michael Byrd, Kenneth Byrd, Peggy Smith, Diane Blackwell, and Sandra Fay Bailey.
After interment, a meal will be served at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
