Brian Eli Hanvey, age 44, of Cunningham, died peacefully in his sleep with his wife and special friend by his side at Gateway Medical Center, August 13, 2014.
He was born son of Doris Sekicki and the late Burton Hanvey, Sr.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Donna Fain Hanvey, son Joshua Hanvey (Erica), granddaughter Emily Newberry Hanvey, sisters Junette Hanvey, Delon Wheatley, and Nicki Perk, brother Gene Hanvey, several nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Geneva Fain, and his four legged friend, Calli.
Brian served as an Associate Pastor for Bethel Baptist Church and was passionate about leading others to the Lord.
He also is a retired Deputy Sheriff for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department where he took pride in serving the 5th largest city in the state.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Denny and Bro. Scott Russell officiating. The Hanvey family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, also at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Josh Hanvey, RJ McGee, Hunter McGee, Nelson Kennedy, Chris Stone, and Don Newlove.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hopsital.
