Brenda Gray

Brenda Ann Gray, age 69, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, while at her home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Tay Joslin officiating. Brenda's family will receive friends from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Additionally, a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 at McDonald Funeral Home, Centerville, TN. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Brenda entered this life on August 29, 1953, daughter of the late Ferrys "Bob" Lawson and Wilma Hailey Lawson. Growing up in the Pinewood Community of Hickman County, Brenda loved learning. After graduating from Hickman Co. High School, she attended and earned her Master's degree from Austin Peay State University. She especially loved the physical sciences, having concentrated on both Biology and Environmental Science during her studies. She went on to have a career as a school teacher with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, teaching at Montgomery Central, Northwest, and Northeast High Schools. Brenda was a well-respected educator by her peers and also a devoted advocate for the children she was entrusted to educate. Additionally, she was an adjunct instructor at both Nashville State Community College and Austin Peay State University. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and her Christian beliefs were evident in her kindness toward her fellow humanity.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 46 years, Roger Gray; her children, Barry Daniel Gray and Miranda Jean-Lee Gray; and grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Gray, Izaick Justice Swan.
