Brenda Sue Christy, age 79, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at her home.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Park Lane Church of the Nazarene with Revs. Larry Spraker, Nick Lennon, and Chuck Culwell officiating.
Burial will follow at Ryes Chapel Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Brenda entered this life on January 21, 1945, in Adams, TN to the late Hubert and Kathryn Threatt. She was the middle daughter of the Threatt family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita Reed, and Martha Morgan. Brenda leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Jimmy Christy; daughter, Sherry (Chuck) Culwell; grandchildren, Luke Culwell, and Jacob (Kaitlyn) Culwell; great-grandson, Charlie Culwell
Brenda retired from Acme Boot Co after 30 years and spent an additional 10 years working for the Clarksville Gas & Water Department. She also worked alongside her husband and his company, Jim Christy Construction. She enjoyed worship and fellowship at Park Lane Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member.
Brenda was diagnosed with dementia 12 years ago and suffered though the terrible disease. Through her suffering, she was a survivor, and she was able to be an active partner up to her final days. Although she was unable to communicate with her husband, she knew she was loved and that was very vital in her long-lasting. She also received love and care from her care giver, Betty Ann Groves for over 4 years. The family would like to thank the Tennova Hospice care team for their special help in Brenda’s final days.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Culwell, Luke Culwell, Jacob Culwell, Richard Clan, John Wollenberg, and Brad Houston.
