Blanche Shepherd

Blanche Shepherd, age 79 of Clarksville, went to be with Jesus on Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Thomas West Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Clarksville, with Rev. Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Woodlawn Cemetery.
The Shepherd family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
Blanche entered this life in Luray, Virginia on November 21, 1936 to the late David Varner and Stella Hess Varner. In addition to her parents, her son, James Blake Shepherd and granddaughter, Cara Roman preceded her in death.
Blanche retired as a Registered Nurse and was devoted and supportive of her husband's ministry for many years. She was a member of New Faith Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving family, Rev. James Shepherd; son, David Shepherd and his wife Cindi; brother, Jerry Varner and his wife Betty Sue; sister-in-law, Eleanor Williams and her husband Jimmy.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Patterson, Jimmy Williams, Ronald Rigsby, Tim Weatherford, Randy Shelton, and Gary Norton. Honorary Pallbearers will be LeRoy Collier, Dwight Bearden, Zoot Parker, Dwight Dickson, Ray Stone, John Laida, Roberta Boswell, Jimmy Terry, and Billy Wall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund at New Faith Baptist Church, 3707 Tarsus Church Road, Palmyra, TN 37142.
