William Howard Scogin, Jr., age 80, of Clarksville, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Eddie Campbell officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Full Military Honors.
The Scogin family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Billy entered into this life on November 8, 1938 in Hartwell, GA to the late William H. Scogin, Sr. and Annie Gunnells Scogin. He was a Retired Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. Along with proudly serving his country, he was a business owner. Billy retired from his business and enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, TJ Perry, and siblings; Doyle, Dot, and May.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Day Scogin; children, Jackie (Mark) Perry, William H. (Laura) Scogin III, and Chris (Emily) Scogin; grandchildren, Dustin, Magan, Brandon, Gracie, and Jake; six great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Scogin, and sister, Fay Canupp.
