Billy Dale Hembree, Sr., passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016.
He was born November 1, 1948 in Dickson, Tennessee, to Robbie Lee Cunningham and Cordell Hembree. He was predeceased by two sons, Billy, Jr. and Christopher; and brothers, Mike, Mark, and Patrick Hembree. He owned and operated for over 20 years New Providence Gulf, North 2nd Service Center, Madison St. BP, and Mr. Bill's Bait & Tackle. He was affectionately called "Mr. Bill" by all his friends and family. Mr. Bill attended Cumberland Heights Elementary School and also Montgomery Central. He was one of Clarksville's very best mechanics and excelled in working on foreign cars. Mr. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman, having hauled in many a big catch from the Cumberland River and Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. He was a Baptist.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Sharon Johnson; his son, Cordell Hembree; brother, David Hembree; and sisters, Joyce Weakley and Robbie Woodruff. Also, many fond aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends. He also was survived by many fur-daughters that he loved dearly, especially his little Lucy and Sassy; his parrott, Fred, and cockatoo, Bella. He will be dearly missed.
